About Paypal

Paypal is a company which has been around since 1998 and is based in California, USA. It was bought by the giant eBay in 2002 for the tidy sum of $1.5 billion: it's known worldwide and is used by millions of customers. Proof of its popularity and reputation is that it's received more than 20 awards, notably that of best financial services website. When online shopping is spoken of, Paypal is almost synonymous with the activity as it's such an easy and standard way to pay.

The creation of a Paypal account is totally free and allows you to send or receive money very easily. Registration is swift and enables you to transfer funds from your bank to your Paypal account. Nevertheless, transfers the opposite way (from Paypal to your bank) are only possible in certain countries: France, the United States, Canada, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand. Also, withdrawals take on average between three and five working days. One practical advantage is that you don't have to put funds into your Paypal account to make payments; just the details of your bank account and then Paypal acts as the 'intermediary' for transactions between your bank and the seller in question.

One of the significant things about Paypal is the fact that the charges are slight. With a personal account, charges are almost non-existent whereas a business account will be subject to regular charges. Safety is one of Paypal's strongest aspects: transfers are reliable and it's rare to get breaches of security. This is one of the reasons that Paypal has become such a significant and really highly thought of company.

Compared to Skrill or Neteller (which are, admittedly, different types of business), there's not a huge number of online casinos allowing deposits or withdrawals through Paypal. Among them, you'll find the casino 888, Betfair, Eurogrand and Paddy Power, for example, although no French online casino for now. Obviously you'd choose other means to carry out your transactions with online gaming establishments ...
